Flying Croissants, Reblochons and White barked trees…

I can’t believe my last post was in June! Just been so busy with life, university, people, my dissertation, Christmas… I completely let this blog slide away. Overall, I think Instagram is to blame though, it’s much easier to post stuff there. But this blog is for remembrance, it’s always fun to go back, read stuff and see how I’ve changed over the years. It’s nostalgic and that’s why I have to keep writing in here diligently. First, I think I should quickly complete my 2017 trip…. I stopped with last day in Barcelona
So, after an amazing four days in Barcelona, it was time to leave. So we woke up at 3 am, cause we had an early flight. And even at 4 am, people were sitting outside on the streets, talking, drinking and dancing. We reached the airport at 4:30 am and after a little drama we finally boarded our flight. Since it was an easy jet flight, we were allowed to carry only one cabin bag per person, and the shoulder bag which they usually allow was denied this time. They were quite finicky and said no shoulder bags or purses. So with difficulty we stuffed our backpacks into our cabin bags and while boarding, they come and tell us that the overhead lockers are full, so could we please remove our personal belongings and give them only the cabin bags. Me and Nam were like, what the !?@>#!
So anyway, we finally boarded and went to sleep right away. Reached Geneva around 8 am, took bus 23, reached home and slept again. Woke up and whiled away the time watching Vicky Cristina Barcelona, just to catch a glimpse of the place where we had roamed around for the past four days, the movie was quite crazy though.
Went to Manor for an awesome lunch.
I had some nice bread and mushroom baked dish.
The rest of the food…
The desserts… we came home slept again then went to a friend’s house for dinner. Amidst all the talking, laughing and munching on good food, a pleasant evening passed by.
The next day was spent lazying around at home. Vinod made tartiflette, with a lot of reblochon cheese
It was quite good, except that the reblochon cheese leaves quite a weird aftertaste, and I’m not sure I like it.
The next day was a Sunday and after a breakfast of cornflakes, muesli and yogurt…
We started working on making mom’s biryani.
Went for the evening mass at Notre Dame Cathedral. Came home and saw a movie, Under the Tuscan Sun, cause it was set in Tuscany, but the movie sucked big time.
The next day Vinod went to the doctor for a really bad throat infection and returned with these croissants for breakfast… good stuff.
Me and Nam decided to roam around, since Vinod just wanted a quiet house to rest…
We picked up something small to eat at Manor.
Outfit of the day… olive green sling bag, grey skirt, a black turtle neck t-shirt, nude shoes from target and a John Keats poetry book.
Just roaming around we came across these white barked trees…. so pretty.
There was a flea market in the old town…
Saw some Indian authors…
And Roy’s ‘God of Small Things’.
Walked into many stores and tried on cute dresses…
I especially liked this one..
Walking and walking, we came across this place… right near the Jet d’Eau.

A quaint little cafe called the Cottage Cafe...

Rest in the next post, this already seems long enough…
