Roaming around with Nam

Went to old town the next day… almost every place here in Europe, has an old town… where medieval architecture and history is kept alive. These old towns have a charming vibe to them, cobblestone paths, small winding roads… the whole feel of the place takes you back to another era.
sights on the way… cobblestone walls
A fountain in old town…
The Jet d’Eau, Geneva’s defining symbol…
Picked up this wristband (the brown one slightly apart from the rest with its celtic like weaving pattern) during the  Fêtes de Genève for six swiss francs… well, he said eight, I brought it down to six. I tend to pick up wristbands at different places I visit, the others seen here were picked up at Salzburg, Nagercoil, and Perouge.
So the old town in Geneva has a lot of shops, we walked into H&M and tried on dresses…
This was too cute, but where would I wear it… so didn’t buy it. Anyway, whenever we went mall hopping here we would hear the same songs we hear back home: ‘work work work’ by Rihana, ‘your sex takes me to paradise’ by Bruno Mara, songs by Ed Sheeran , Shawn Mendes, Coldplay and the like… and it was kinda annoying (I like ‘shape of you’ so when that came on it was fun, but the others are really annoying). But they do seem a bit obsessed with western pop music here, it wasn’t like this a few years back… they would play french pop songs in most places.
After shopping walked a bit to reach this Ethiopian place where we were meeting my brother for dinner.
Ethiopian restaurant decor
First time eating Ethiopian food and it was amazing… it tasted so close to home. This was like appam with a lot of vegetables, fish and chicken. The appam like base is called injera and it was really really good… with the vegetables and fish it felt like what I have for lunch everyday in Chennai… great food Ethiopia.
So whenever we go out to eat, we have to order something to drink along with our food… my brother drilled this into me, always order some drink. So there’s a lot of beer/wine/champagne drinking out here and in this Chennai like summer heat these bubbles are quite soothing, (while it is really hot out here, in Chennai the climate is good they say with all the rains).
