Annecy, France…

Annecy in France, is located about forty five minutes from Geneva and every last Saturday of the month, a huge flea market is held in the old town. So we decided to drop in on the last Saturday of October 2013, and weren’t we in for a pleasant surprise! There were so many trinkets, antiques, paintings, and an assortment of things being sold for reasonably good prices… it was fun walking around, revelling in the sights and the sounds of a beautiful French town.
Saw this pretty house on the way to the old town in Annecy…
Entering the old town…
Ah, these bells… I wanted to buy one, but they are so heavy.
Cute stuff…
Wooden clogs…
Antique perforated spoons…
A painting…
Paintings, sofas and other stuff…
This winged being caught my eye…
A picture of Jesus…
That girl in the painting looks real…
I really liked these pictures…
Especially this one of the bridge…
This cute little fellow was observing us…
This fellow was taking a nap…
Books on display…
Assortment of cups…
There were pretty white dresses like this, beautiful embroidered lace, pretty baptism clothes…
A picture of the photographer…
Annecy is also known as the Venice of Savoie, cause of these peaceful canals that flow through the old town. I think Annecy is prettier than Venice though, it’s nestled at the foot of the Alps (as seen in the picture above) and the snow capped peaks with the flowers everywhere and the turquoise waters makes this place incredibly beautiful…
Interesting bow and a guitar and some paintings…
Walking through the old town…
Stopping at a pub…
Checking out more bells…
Coffee and pepper grinders… we bought one of these pepper grinders and the parents love it.
Trinkets…
More bells…
Cute spice rack…
A guy playing the Swiss hang drum…
Cute lavender and soap scented pouches…

The earrings my sister bought in Yverdon

The bracelet she bought in Lourdes
My brother is a food connoisseur and every time he accompanied us, we would eat authentic French cuisine… here he ordered some snails and this was the first time I tasted them. They were slimy and with all those spices, pretty tasty too.
A salad I ordered, those are cheese balls on top… they didn’t taste that great.
A nice picture at the restaurant…
Charming Annecy…
A church we saw on the way…
Cathedral Saint Pierre…
A rusted armour…
Picturesque Annecy…
Spotted a John Grisham book…
Interesting things…
This worn out statue stopped me in my tracks… there is beauty in this child’s stance…
Pretty no?
Pretty tea pots…
A place to drink French wine…
Braided hair on these men…
A statue preening herself…

Picked up this glass jug too at the flea market…
