Christmas 2021

So we’re at the end of the year, and it was a pretty good year… found immeasurable treasure in the yoga classes by Radhika, Kassandra, and Echo among others. Just a half hour flow session feels amazing, you feel your blood gushing happily, your body thanking you profusely and your mood lifting immensely… it’s like magic flowing in your veins. Which is exactly what I wanted to capture in the Christmas cards I sent out this year.

Vrikshasana or Tree pose, is the perfect asana for a Christmas card… you’ve to light yourself up no matter what happens around you, light yourself up with love.
A meditative pose… after the rage and fiery wilderness has done its (necessary) work.

Hope everyone is having a beautiful Christmas season. Christmas feels different this year, like I’ve to work to feel the excitement that naturally comes every December. I don’t know whether it is an age thing or whether it has something to do with two siblings not coming down for the holidays. Maybe it is part of growing up… Christmas cannot stay the same, change has to take place. With time, people change too, but the love that wrought us will always remain in our midst. Christmas doesn’t need saving, the (Christmas) spirit will always find you when you feel the love within and exude it into everything you do and everyone you meet. It always comes back manifold and that’s pretty much how Christmas should feel, warm and beautiful.
Here are a few pictures of the Christmas décor at home..

Angel orchestra in the crib…
Christmas tree with a lot of paper doily angels…
The paper doily angels…
Christmas crib, with last year’s miniature crib nearby…
The Icelandic tradition of gifting books for Christmas, Jolabokaflod.
Nuts and raisins soaking in brandy…
Brandy cakes and a lemon cake…

Well, that’s it for now… I’ve got more baking to do, a birthday and the New Year coming up.
