Hermance, a village in Geneva…

For a whole month it was mostly me and Nam, roaming around on our own and Vinod would accompany us during the weekends. So one day we decided to visit Hermance, a picturesque village on the banks of Lake Lehman, situated barely 25 minutes from my brother’s place. We took the bus and the ride was so peaceful, watching the city slowly disappear to reveal the countryside…
The bus deposited us right in front of this medieval church, in Hermance.
Soft lighting inside the church… see the statue of Jesus hanging to the side on a maroon cloth….
Probably an old figure of Jesus on a cross, that did not survive the ravages of time…
A stained glass window… depicting the Assumption of Mary.
Graveyards are so pretty in Europe…
An intricate cross against a blue sky…
Angels and doves on the tombs…
of family members…
Saw this on a grave, worn out statues of Christ on a cross… and people carrying Him.
A medieval watch tower…
A gnarled tree near a hobbit like residence…
Outdoor decor, those bright red flowers and the crisp white lace curtains, with those glass doors and windows… pretty!
Another instance where people try to grow flowers anywhere and everywhere they can…. here you see two window boxes hanging from one half of a gate.
Window decor…
Another pretty sight… check out those frill edged curtains…
This wonderful soul came out to play with us…
Hermance junction…
Pretty arch…
The people living in this colourful vine covered house… have a perfect view of the lake.
And this is what they see… the lakeside promenade…
Here’s my sister, it had just started drizzling….
And this is me clicking away…
Picturesque Hermance…
View of Lake Lehman, with the the rain clouds rolling in…
And then it started pouring, biting cold rain… we shivered our way back to the bus stop.
Hermance, a nice little peaceful village with not many folks around, is a pretty good way to explore the countryside in Geneva. There are quite a few quaint places to relax or grab a bite to eat… and the lake is serenely captivating.
